We Took a Ferry to St. Barths!

On our trip’s second to last day in St. Martin, we were blessed with good weather after Hurricane Tammy, so we took the ferry to St. Barths! We got tickets for $92.70 and drove to the French side of the island to catch the ferry, which cost $20 to park. We checked in at the front office, waited about 30 minutes, and got in line for immigration before getting on the ferry, which was a 45-minute trip to St. Barths.

Once we got to the island, we went through immigration again, with about 8 hours to run around the island. The first thing we did was rent a car, which I have to say be careful! The deposit was $2000 if they found any issues with the car, so you know we brought it back in perfect condition, lol.

After getting the car, we went to Arawak cafe, and I had the best shrimp sweet potato avocado mango with a peanut vinaigrette sauce salad of my life like I’m still dreaming of recreating it. We drove to St. Johns Beach and spent most of our time there, but during the off-season, most of the restaurants were closed. So you know we are going to redo St. Barts. Honestly, the water was so warm and soft; it was such a relaxing experience I wish we had gone during the regular season. But I might wait cause while their waters are beautiful, I got stung by a jellyfish. At that point, it felt like it was one thing after the next from Hurricane, sinus infection, limited things to do, and now a jellyfish. I was ready to go home lol.

So we hopped in the car and drove back towards the port to return it. The day flew by. We had about 1 hour left before the ferry came to pick us up, so we did some souvenir shopping, got some crêpes, and walked to port. If you’re ever in Saint Martin or Anguilla, take the ferry to St. Barths!
